A mattress is light but bulky. Roughly 8-12 single mattresses or 5-8 double mattresses fit in our Sprinter van, so what you are paying for is cargo space and crew time rather than weight. Bulky waste is handled at around €215 per tonne, but that is only one part of the job: the quotation also covers travel, carrying, loading and disposal.
Two workers are the standard crew. A third is added when weight, access or safety calls for it - a tight stairwell turn, a small lift, or a long carry. A large double mattress cannot always be turned inside a lift, and that applies to the panel blocks of Lasnamäe, Mustamäe and Õismäe as much as to the older buildings of Kristiine and North Tallinn. So far no collection has been cancelled or rescheduled because of access.
If the mattress is wet, mouldy, or you suspect bedbugs, tell us before confirming - we bring protective wrapping and plan the handling differently, and an additional charge may apply. Keep the mattress inside the apartment until the agreed time: apartment association rules differ, and a mattress left in the stairwell or beside the bins usually causes problems.

Why is my quotation higher than €50?
The website shows a starting price for the simplest kind of collection. The final quotation depends on the address, floor, lift, carrying distance, parking, mattress size and the work required. The price covers transport, the crew's time, carrying, loading and licensed disposal.
Does the price include carrying it downstairs?
Yes, carrying from the apartment to the van is part of the quotation. No lift or a long carry affects the price, because the job takes longer and may need a third worker.
Do you take mattresses with bedbugs or mould?
Often yes, but tell us before confirming the order. We bring heavy-duty wrapping and protective equipment and plan the handling differently; an additional charge may apply. If the contamination poses an unreasonable risk to the crew, the vehicle or later loads, we may decline the item.
Can I carry the mattress down myself to lower the price?
Preparing in advance can shorten the carrying time, but it does not remove the main costs: travel, vehicle, crew time, loading and disposal. Please don't leave the mattress in the stairwell or beside the bins without the association's permission.
